BuildMate ('we', 'us') is a home-improvement platform providing free calculators, an AI project estimator, guides and blog content. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. This page is maintained by the BuildMate team to answer common privacy questions about our service.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly (email when you subscribe or contact us, and text you enter in the AI estimator), and information collected automatically (device type, browser, pages visited, approximate location and referral source) via privacy-respecting analytics.
How we use information
We use it to operate and improve the product, respond to inquiries, send newsletters you opted into, prevent abuse and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information.
AI Estimator inputs
Prompts you submit to the AI Estimator are transmitted to our AI provider to generate estimates. Do not include personal, confidential or sensitive information in prompts. We may retain anonymized prompts to improve quality.

Third parties
We share data with vetted service providers (hosting, analytics, email delivery, AI inference) under contracts that restrict their use of your data to providing services to us.

Data retention

Children
BuildMate is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
