Our commitment
BuildMate is committed to making its calculators, guides and articles usable by everyone, regardless of ability or the device they use. We aim to meet or exceed the WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria across the entire site.
What we do
We use semantic HTML landmarks, keyboard-navigable controls, visible focus states, sufficient color contrast, descriptive link and button text, alt text on informative images, and responsive layouts that work down to 320px wide and up to 200% zoom.
Assistive technology
The site is regularly tested with modern versions of NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack, as well as keyboard-only navigation. Form fields include associated labels, and dynamic results are announced via live regions where relevant.
Known limitations
Some third-party embeds and legacy content may not yet fully meet AA. We track these gaps and work to close them in our regular release cycle.
Report an issue
If you encounter a barrier using BuildMate, email accessibility@buildmat.app with the page URL and a short description of the issue. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
Formal complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the relevant national accessibility authority in your country (for example, the U.S. Access Board, the UK Equality and Human Rights Commission, or the Canadian Human Rights Commission).
