Corrections Policy

Last updated: July 23, 2026

Getting it right

We work hard to publish accurate calculators, formulas and cost figures. When we get something wrong, we want to fix it quickly and openly.

What counts as a correction

Corrections include factual errors, out-of-date cost data, broken formulas, mislabeled units, or safety statements that need clarification. Minor copy edits and grammar fixes are handled silently.

How we correct

Substantive corrections are made in place, and the “Last updated” date at the top of the affected page is refreshed. When a correction meaningfully changes a result or recommendation, we add a short note near the change describing what was updated.

Reporting an error

Spotted something off? Email corrections@buildmat.app with the page URL and a short description — including a source or reference if you have one. We aim to review every report within 5 business days.

Escalation

If a reader is unhappy with how we’ve handled a correction, they can escalate to editorial@buildmat.app for a second review by a senior editor.
